Terms of Use
These Terms explain what NextJob ("NextJob", "we", "us") is, what it does for you, and what it does not do. Please read them. By creating an account you agree to them.
In short
- NextJob is a tool that helps you look for jobs and does part of that work for you automatically.
- We are not an employer, a recruiter or a staffing agency. We do not hire anyone and we do not place anyone in a job.
- We do not promise or guarantee that you will get an interview, an offer or a job.
- The jobs you see are listings from other companies. Your dealings with an employer are between you and that employer.
- You pay for the matching service, not for a job.
1. What NextJob is
NextJob is an online service for people who are looking for work in the United States. You answer questions about yourself and the work you want. Using your answers we:
- search job listings from third party job data sources and rank them by how well they seem to fit you;
- keep watching for new listings and tell you about strong matches by email, and by text message if you choose that;
- write a formal CV for you from your answers, which you can download;
- give you a place to keep your documents and see the jobs you saved or applied for.
The purpose of the service is to save you time. We do the searching and sorting so you do not have to.
2. What NextJob is not
- We are not an employer, a recruiter, an employment agency or a staffing agency.
- We do not hire, interview, select or place candidates, and we do not decide who gets a job.
- We do not promise, guarantee or predict that you will get an interview, a job offer, a job, a certain pay or a certain result. A high match score is only our estimate of fit. It is not a promise.
- We do not own, write or check the job listings. They come from other companies and from job data providers, and they can be wrong, out of date or taken down.
- We do not give legal, immigration, tax or career advice.
3. We are not responsible for job outcomes
NextJob only helps you search and automates part of the work. Finding and keeping a job is up to you and the employer. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible or liable for:
- whether you are contacted, interviewed, hired or paid by any employer;
- what an employer or a listing says or does, including the accuracy of a listing, the pay, the working conditions, or any hiring decision;
- any agreement, dispute, loss or harm that comes from your dealings with an employer or another company you find through the service;
- any decision you make based on a match score, a CV, an AI comment or an alert.
Be careful with any job offer. A real employer will not ask you to pay money to get a job. If a listing asks you to pay, to send a bank card or to move money, do not do it, and tell us.
4. Who can use NextJob
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract. You must give true and current information. You are responsible for keeping your answers up to date. The service is meant for people looking for work in the United States.
5. Your account
Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using it. You can change your password and delete your account in Settings.
6. Plans and payment
You can choose a plan: Standard ($49.95), Fast Track ($99.95) or Priority ($229). Each is a one-time payment, not a subscription, and lasts a set number of days (Standard 30 days, Fast Track 60 days, Priority 90 days) counted from the day you pay. Nothing renews or charges you again by itself. When a plan ends, automatic searching and automatic applying stop, and your profile, answers, CV and saved jobs stay in your account; you can buy a plan again whenever you choose. The plan decides how early and how often our system searches for you, compared with other members. Priority is served first, then Fast Track, then Standard. A higher plan means we work on your search sooner. It does not mean more or better job offers, and it never guarantees a job.
You pay for the matching service, not for a job. Payments are handled by our payment provider (Stripe). We never see or store your card number. If you upgrade to a higher plan while yours is running you pay only the difference, and a new period of the higher plan starts on the day you upgrade.
Because the service starts as soon as you pay, fees are generally not refundable, except where the law requires it or where we say otherwise in writing. If you have a problem with a payment, write to us and we will look at it.
7. AI features
We use artificial intelligence to help write your CV and to judge how well job listings fit you. AI can make mistakes. Read your CV before you use it and fix anything that is not right. AI comments about a job are suggestions to help you decide, not facts. We do not use AI to decide anything about you that has a legal effect, and no hiring decision is made by NextJob.
To do this we send career information (such as skills, experience, education and the text of a job listing) to our AI provider. We do not send your name, phone number or email address for this. See the Privacy Policy.
8. Background checks
A background check is optional. If you choose one, you complete it with an independent provider on the provider's own website, where you will receive the legal notices and give the permission that US law (the Fair Credit Reporting Act) requires. We do not run the check ourselves. You may also upload a report you already have. Employers decide for themselves whether they want a check.
9. Email and text messages
We email you about your account and, unless you turn it off in Settings, about new job matches. Text message alerts are optional and are off unless you turn them on with a separate agreement. If you do: you get at most one job alert text a day (plus a one-time code when you sign up for texts), never before 8 am or after 9 pm where you live, message and data rates may apply, you can reply STOP at any time to stop, and you can reply HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of buying anything.
10. What you may and may not do
- Do not give false information or pretend to be someone else.
- Do not copy, scrape or resell the service or the job listings, or try to break or overload it.
- Do not use the service to treat anyone unlawfully or to send spam.
- Do not upload files you have no right to share, or files that contain viruses.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
11. Your information
You keep ownership of what you give us. You allow us to use it to run the service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. Your profile is shared with an employer only after you approve a match, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
12. Links to other sites
The service links to employers, job boards and providers that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, their privacy practices or what they do.
13. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We try to keep it running and accurate, but we do not promise that it will be without errors or interruptions, that every suitable job will be found, or that listings are correct.
14. Limit of our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, NextJob and the people who work for it are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, lost wages, lost opportunities or lost profits. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that the law says cannot be limited.
15. Ending your use
You can stop at any time and delete your account in Settings. When you delete your account your data is removed from our database as described in the Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms. When the change matters, we will ask you to read and accept the new version before you continue. The date at the top shows the version.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the State where NextJob is established, without regard to conflict of law rules, unless the law of your place of residence says otherwise.
